Day Hospice Program

Friends of Hospice Ottawa operates two day away programs' which provide:day haospice pic

  • A day out in the community
  • Laughter
  • Relaxation
  • A chance to give their caregiver a break.
  • The opportunity to learn new and interesting things
  • The option of playing cards or other games
  • The support they need

Small groups of up to 12 clients meet from 10:00 to 3:00 with a group of volunteers and one of our Support Care nurses. We have a comfortable lounge, a place to rest and room for crafts. A hot lunch is included and enjoyed by everyone. We watch movies, have guests, and enjoy the quiet garden (in Richmond).

Transportation can be arranged if necessary.

Friends of Hospice Ottawa's Tuesday Day Away Program is held at Bells Corners United Church in Nepean, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Friends of Hospice Ottawa's Thursday Day Away Program is held at St. John's the Baptist Anglican Church in Richmond, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Halloween party at Day Hospice

Friends of Hospice Ottawa had a special Hallowe’en party at Day Hospice! Supportive Care Nurse Raggedy Anne was delighted to receive a cheque from David Gall, Richmond Scouts, supporting programs and services.

Up to 15 clients with life threatening illness attend Day Hospice for friendship and support. If you would like more information please call Supportive Care Nurse Holly Watson at 613-591-6002 Ext 23.

All services are provided without charge. Your donations are welcomed to help us fund and expand our programs.
